Gareth A Selwood, Manager/Trainer at Lorick Stables since July 1, 2011, brings over 30 years of international experience in the equestrian world with him to our “state of the art” facility. Winner of the 2004 Norman K Dunn Trophy and Equestrian of Honor as a Finalist for the USEF Horseman of the Year for excellence in Halter showing. Born in Luton England in 1961, Gareth grew up in Brussels, Belgium, attending the International School and the British School of Brussels. As a Junior rider he competed in Dressage, Eventing and Junior Jumpers. Graduating High School in Redlands, California in 1978 Gareth started showing Arabians and eventually became a Trainer for the Royal Family of Morocco. In 1989 he moved to Wisconsin where he introduced the Andalusian to the Show Community and his Selwood Park Stable thrived for over twenty years. At the end of the 2009 show season Gareth moved his Stable to a warmer climate and spent the 2010 and most of the 2011 season in Florida at Canterbury Showplace. After accepting his new position with Lorick stables he shows exclusively for Rick, Lorie, and their friends.
A USEF Carded Judge in Several Divisions, Gareth continues to serve the Horse World as a Judge, Appraiser, Clinician and Coach. In addition to contributing to several Equine related boards and committees Gareth was the President of The International Friesian Show Horse Association (IFSHA) in 2007, 2011, 2012, and 2013. He also managed the IFSHA World Show in 2006 through 2013. Gareth is now a 3 time USEF Equestrian of Honor in the years 2004, 2014, and 2017.

All Training Packages are for a Minimum of 90 Days
All Horses in The Care of Lorick Stables must be insured for Mortality and Major Medical during their stay.
All Trailering and Show Expenses will be prorated depending on number of horses and staff attending specific shows.
Class Handling Fees will be charged equal to the Show entry Fee in addition to Trailering, Hotel, Meals, Day fees etc per Horse.
All farrier charges billed separately
All Veterinary charges will be billed directly
We offer Training in all Disciplines including Halter and Equitation for all Breeds. Private Driving Lessons are also available.
